Phuket Paradise

We're really enjoying all the public holidays in Singapore. Back in the States we never traveled during a holiday weekend because of the costs and crowds. Here it's different because there are so many countries within a 1-3 hour distance and an abundance of low cost airlines.

For the Good Friday holiday we spent the 3-day weekend in Phuket, Thailand. All we wanted to do was sit on the beach, read, drink a few cocktails, and snorkel. We happily accomplished all these goals and more.

One of the great things about traveling in Asia is not just the low cost airfares, but the affordable hotels. We were able to stay at a 5-star resort at half the cost. We never traveled like this before so we were like kids in a playground.

Sun starting to set

After a long, hard day of sitting on the beach we started to get hungry. We stayed in a less crowded part of Phuket which kept the relaxed vibe going. Along the beach were many restaurants and bars where you can sit with your feet in the sand. We took in the sunset, the delicious Thai food, and a few mojitos.

Love the sunsets

The following day we took a speedboat tour to Koh Phi Phi Islands, Maya Bay, and Monkey Island. Such gorgeous places!

Phuket was the perfect place for some R&R. On the plane ride back to Singapore we were already planning our next trip back here.
