One week down, one week to go! The big move has made us feel a flurry of emotions. One minute we feel ecstatic about the idea of living in a new country. Next moment we feel sad thinking about the family and friends we're leaving behind. The excitement outweighs all and we know this is an opportunity of a lifetime.
This past week we've spent hours each day sorting through our belongings. We created four piles: ship, store, donate, and pack. We won't be packing much due to the baggage and weight limit on the plane. Plus we figured we can buy most of the living essentials over there. Singapore has two Ikea stores apparently, which is great for short-term furnishings. We're also considering getting a furnished apartment. All the nice grown-up stuff from our wedding is going into storage, as well as our winter garments. We won't be needing them in the 90 degree, 80% humidity weather. Here are photos our apartment right now. Dodging boxes is our daily exercise. :)
