We're here! We landed
in Singapore at 2 a.m. This country did not wait to impress. We heard
how amazing the Changi Airport was (tons of shops, rooftop gardens, and
even a movie theater). The most impressive part though, was how quickly
we got out of customs. Of course after only 20 minutes upon arrival I
violated one of Singapore's many rules - no photography! Here are photos
of us in the customs line.
We were picked up at the airport by a sweet man named Bobby, who was hired by Tony's company to take us to our new home. He doubled as our tour guide, showing us sites and neighborhoods along the way. We have a temporary apartment for 1 month which will give us time to look for a long-term place. We pulled up to this colorful British colonial-style building on a equally colorful street. The building used to be a shop house. This was the perfect location for first time visitors because it was in the center of all the sites. The MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) station was a 5 minute walk away, there was a mall across the street, and an abundance of restaurants right outside our door. Welcome to Singapore!
